Win at Lagos Life: the unofficial strategy guide

Lagos Life is a free, Sims-style life game set in Nigeria. This guide tells you what to do next to get ahead: which job pays, which business pays back, how to read the billboards, and how to plan the week's rent. Every figure is dated and checked in the game, and anything we have not verified says so.

Quick start in 5 steps

The shortest route from a blank character to a paying company.

  1. 1Core stats

Keep your six needs bars green

Food, energy, fun, social, hygiene and bladder. Green bars make a happy Sim, and tapping the bucket or shower is how you freshen up when a quest asks.

  2. 2No skill gate

    Take a no-gate job: Refining

Operator Trainee pays ₦14,000 a shift with no skill requirement. Every shift is one hour and can be worked at any time.

    Operator Trainee pay

    ₦14,000 / shift

  3. 3Saturday

Cover rent and bills before Saturday

Owners report that rent, company bills and tax all come out on Saturdays. Keep a cushion so you never fall behind.

  4. 4First company

    Save for your first company

A food spot in Ikorodu costs ₦140,000 all in (₦50,000 CAC fee plus ₦90,000 setup).

    ₦50,000

  5. 5Travel

    Explore, travel and stay safe

Visit the venues on the map, fly or take a coach to Abuja or Port Harcourt, and only send money to people you know.
