What is Lagos Life?

Lagos Life is a free, browser-based, multiplayer life simulation set in Nigeria. Think of a Sims-style game where your character lives in Lagos: you work, pay rent, look after your needs, chat with real players and, if you save enough, run a company.

The basics

Free and in the browser. There is nothing to install. Play at lagoslife.app.
Multiplayer. When we looked, roughly 83,000 to 96,000 players were online. Chat is location-based, so you talk to whoever is in the same place.
Three cities. Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. You travel by flying or by coach.
A creator. The game is built by Nigerian developer Shalom Rayhamen. This guide is a fan project and has no connection to him or the game.

What you actually do

Your Sim has six needs (food, energy, fun, social, hygiene, bladder) and a mood that shows how you are doing. You earn money from one-hour job shifts, from a company, or from community events like the daily gem hunt. You spend it on rent, houses, cars, furniture, going out and your business. The jobs list has 33 careers.

The in-game phone

Almost everything runs through your phone. Core apps include Jobs, Messages, Contacts, Help & guide, Ride, Bank, Boutique, Forbes, Houses, Cars, Invite, Health and more. A few apps appear to be real brands or sponsored placements, and we say nothing about them beyond that they appear in the game.

Money and top-ups

You can top up game money with real money, but you cannot cash it out. Read top up and cash out before spending.

Why a guide?

The game has its own Help & guide app and an AI helper, but each topic is short. This site goes deeper on the numbers: which job pays, which business pays back, which billboard is best value and how to plan rent.
