Lagos Life Rent and Bills Explained
When rent and bills are due in Lagos Life, what we know about housing costs, and how to plan your week so you never fall behind.
Rent is the bill that catches new players out, so plan it first.
What we know
- Due day: weekly, on Saturdays. This is owner-reported, so treat it as likely rather than certain.
- Housing types: self-contain, mini-flat, duplex and mansion show up on the Forbes list.
- Top end: a mansion runs up to ₦1.5m a week.
- Company costs also land on Saturdays: ₦20,000 bills a week plus 5% tax from the till, and staff at ₦13,000 each.
What we do not know yet
We have not verified rent for each housing type below the mansion cap. That is why our rent planner asks you to type in your own rent, rather than guessing.
A simple weekly plan
- Add your weekly rent and bills.
- Work out how many shifts cover them. At ₦11,600 a shift in Banking, for example, you need a few shifts for every ₦30,000 of costs.
- Work those shifts first, then spend what is left.

Tips
- Keep one week of costs spare before you register a company, because bills run on a schedule whether or not you had a good week.
- Bigger houses are about status and comfort. Do not take on a rent you cannot cover from shifts.
